An Aggrieved Trainee Condemns Alliance in TTAG

Mr. Abdul- Rahman Musah an Aggrieved teacher trainee of Presbyterian College of Education in Akropong- Akuapem. Early this morning, released a statement on Facebook, WhatsApp and other social media platforms condemning alliance in the teacher trainee’s association of Ghana (TTAG) and how it hinders the progress of the association. Here is his statement;

LET’S CONDEMN TTAG ALLIANCE

Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) ever since its inception has stand to defend and uphold the issues of the teacher trainees’ fraternity. This bigger association which absorbs all the forty-six colleges of education in the country and seeks for it welfare is riddled with a loophole called “ALLIANCE”. This Alliance, drains competency for favouritism during elections.

The five administrative sectors; Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo (ASHBA), the three Northern Regions (ATTRICONS), Volta Region (VOLTA), Eastern and Greater Accra Regions (EGA), Western and Central Regions (WEC) which form TTAG are the patronisers of this alliance and this creep it way into the national association, TTAG.

This alliance is activated mostly on electing executives to man the association. It is aimed at winning political power without taking into consideration aspirants capabilities and their competencies. This is done when sectors merge and elect persons within their association who they think are capable to man sector or national vacant executive positions. Irrespective of the number of people within the sector who want to contest for a position, since the merged sectors have already chosen their favourite, it gag others from coming forward no matter their capabilities and this has been made to be the norm which shouldn’t be so.

If this alliance continues to persist in the association, viewing into the near future without measures put in place to halt it, the leadership of the association from sector to national will lose best prospect leaders to this alliance which will render TTAG ineffective.
I believe forming alliance to achieve a common purpose is good but in respect to using it in electing leaders should never be encouraged in the trainee fraternity.

I MEAN WELL!

Abdul-Rahman Musah,
Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong-Akuapem.

Open Letter To Hon Dr. Sagre Bambangi MP for Walewale

General News: Featured Article

Open Letter To Hon. Dr. Sagre Bambangi MP for Walewale Constituency and Deputy Minister of Agric.

Hon Dr. Sagre Bambangi MP for Walewale

Dear Sir,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and sound mind wherever you are now. Honourable MP, I’m writing to you as a displeased young constituent from your constituency; Walewale Constituency wishing to draw your kind attention to issues of major concern to the good people of Walewale and it’s environs.

To say the least, Hon. I’m not happy right now as I stated earlier, simply because of your neglect. We are dumped at crossroads. And left on our own to wallow and wander around in the thickest of forest or even in a faraway desert.

Not to bore you so much with a verbose letter, I wish to draw your attention to first of all our now municipal library complex which was constructed and commissioned just some few years ago to cater for the people of Walewale and it’s surrounding villages. Now, It is in tatters and nothing seems to work over there, no books, no shelves (the few shelves over there are broken), the fans are not working, inadequate tables, no ICT resource center for students etc. Simply put, it is in a sad state and it’s current state of affairs cannot be allowed to continue.

Inside of the library complex

I personally went in there on several occasions and I felt sorry for myself and the other readers who walked into the library purposely to read and broaden their scope of knowledge as well as enlighten their minds.

Non working fans and interior of the library complex

Hon MP, our now municipal library complex in it’s present shape is not fit enough to be a school library talkless being a library complex for a whole municipal.

More importantly, scrap dealers have encroached the land of the library making it even more uncomfortable to study in it due to noise generated from their ends.

Scrap dealers located behind Walewale Library complex

Sir, how do we motivate people especially the youth to read under these circumstances?
We need well furnished with up to date books and facilities as a municipal library complex in town.

Honourable MP, secondly of concern is the Walewale Astro turf. I have been wondering for months now what’s actually happening to this fine project, which have the potentiality of opening up Walewale for investment and soaring up local economy.

During the sod cutting ceremony, it was announced in the presence of dignified personalities and the entire populace of Walewale that the project will take a maximum of 3 months to be completed but here we are it is more than a year now and no headway has been made yet and the contractors have deserted the site for months now and no one is uttering even a word.

Artistic Design of the Astro Turf in Walewale

What is even more heartbreaking is that, our opinion leaders, MCE and our MP who represents us in Parliament is also silent as well. Meanwhile, it had been mentioned times without number by the Finance minster Hon. Ken Ofori Atta that the Astro turf in Walewale is near completion. Same applies to our MCE who have not also said anything since the contractors left. I find your loud silence deadly and worrying.

Other ancillary facilities that were attached to the project during the sod cutting are no more in the actual project, Sir, what happened?

Weeds have taken over the site for the project

On behalf of youth of Walewale, I would humbly please suggest that you kindly brief us on radio or any other means possible on what is actually happening at the Walewale football park where the Astro turf is been constructed.

The site abandoned by the contractor

To end with, Honourable, I would anxiously hope to hear from you soon. In your reply however, We would humbly expect a detailed roadmap on how you plan to revamp our municipal library complex to meet the standards of a Municipal library complex in your response. Furthermore, we would need to see contractors back on site to finish up the Astro turf as soon as practicable because we are reliably informed that the ones in Madina and Kyebi are completed now of which they all started at the time. Why Walewale? As our representative please endeavour to represent us well in every sphere of your public life.

Have a blessed day ahead.

Sincerely yours,
Issah Toha Shamsoo

It is reported that National PRM hopeful released a statement yesterday, Monday outlining reasons why he have taken the bold move to contest against all odds. He believes he is the right man for the job.

Declaration of Intent – PRM Hopeful

Today, we affirm our greatest desire to be of service to humanity through our quest in seeking the rightful needs of our trainees. There has been no moment in our lives and in our fraternity that has been more imperative than the moments we find ourselves. We should be aware that our future is not one of ease or resting but of incessant striving that require the fulfilment of the pledges we have so often made and the ones we shall make onwards.

The service of trainees means the service of the many future trainees who might suffer in one way or the other and as such, seek immediate address to their challenges. It means the ending of ignorance, the opening of doors of opportunities and the beginnings of an era of positivity.

It begun with great leaders of antiquity. The likes of Nelson Mandela, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Jerry John Rawlings and many others. They had their doubts, their set backs yet they stood still and fought hard for glory. Today, after their reigns, their legacies continue to live on.

Many people continue to fight up for humanity. Service to mankind through leadership. Just as steven Spender rightfully spews it in his poem โ€œmen who in their life time, fight for lives with their life and sign the vivid air in their honourโ€ We make this appeal to you all to join us with faith and confidence to answer once more, the call from our generation as we begin this great adventure.

We must do this!
We must do this together!
It is a Must!

Alhamdulilah, it is on this note that, I officially declare my intention to contest as Aspirant for the position of the National Public Relations Manager(PRM) of Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana(TTAG).
My name is Nasrullah Ibn Mutawakil.
#muta4prm

Mr Nasrullah Ibn Mutawakil worked assiduously in the formation of TTAG Weekly Journal (TWJ) under the distinguished leadership of the TTAG President, Anthony Dadzie and he also serves as the chairman of the editorial board since it’s establishment till date.
